A couple of years ago, I saw this, sadly still timely, poem by Brian Bilston (AKA the Poet Laureate of Twitter”). I happened to be hanging around the legendary NRBQ guitar picker and songwriter, Al Anderson. We put music to the poem, and I added a last verse with the poets blessing.
Two days ago, I got a message on my Facebook from follower and fellow musician, Bradley Dean Whyte. He took my rough piano/voice recording and added a band. His wife, named Laura, made a video for it. Bravo Dean and Laura!
Say, if any of you wanna put. your hand on making a video of one of my songs, do it! I'll send you..how about an autographed CD or shirt? It's all I got. I love Bradley's use of archival footage.
England is a cup of tea. France, a wheel of ripened brie. Greece, a short, squat olive tree. America is a gun.
Brazil is football on the sand. Argentina, Maradona’s hand. Germany, an oompah band. America is a gun.
Holland is a wooden shoe. Hungary, a goulash stew. Australia, a kangaroo. America is a gun.
Japan is a thermal spring. Scotland is a highland fling. Oh, better to be anything than America as a gun.
