Jill's Journal has been a regular feature of this website for over five years. Back when Jill's Journal debuted (in May of 2003), only a few people had heard the term "blog." Yes, the word had been coined back in 1999, and some of the earliest (and now most respected) blogs were in operation by 2001 or 2002, but still, when Jill started "blogging" in 2003, most of us didn't even know it by that name.
Well, of course, times have changed, and over the years, we've wanted to update Jill's Journal to look and feel more like a modern blog, but other projects have always gotten in the way.
Well, no more. As of today, we've added two new feature to Jill's Journal:
Comments! Yes, you can now -- finally -- comment on the artices in Jill's Journal, and discuss things with Jill and other site visitors. Just click on the "comments" link below each article; you'll be taken to a page where you can read all the comments that have been left so far, plus leave your own. Welcome to the new, interactive Jill's Journal!
RSS Syndication. You can now subscribe to Jill's Journal using a modern web browser or your favorite reader software. We publish Jill's Journal in two formats -- our "standard" format, which incudes article titles, a "teaser" line from each entry, and a link to the full article here on jillsobulecom; and our "full text" format, which delivers entire blog entries (including pictures) to you as they are published.
We're excited to announce the debut this week of a website for Prozak and the Platypus, the off-off-Broadway musical that Jill co-authored with playwright Elise Thoron. Even more exciting, there's now a new CD available, featuring music from the show (sung by Jill) accompanied by a beautifully drawn 30-page comic book by artist KellyAnne Hanrahan, which tells the story that goes along with the music.
No, this is not Jill's new album -- that's still to come -- but this wonderful collaborative project has been in the works for several years, and we're so happy to be finally able to bring it to a wider audience. The story is compelling and the music, of course, is really wonderful, and we hope you'll check it out. Visit the aforementioned website for the complete scoop on the show, and pick yourself up a copy of the CD now, either through the Prozak and the Platypus website, or right here in the Jill Store.
This just in: for anyone who was planning on seeing Jill and Julia Sweeney tonight at Kulak's Woodshed in Los Angeles (it was a last minute show that we had announced briefly on this site) -- this show has been canceled, as Jill is somewhat under the weather and unable to sing. The show will be rescheduled at a later date. We apologize for any inconvenience.
The fundraising effort over at JillsNextRecord.com has been an unqualified success! We reached our target of $75,000 on the morning of Friday, March 7th, just 53 days after opening the website to the public. In those 53 days, contributions came in from well over 500 people in 44 states, the District of Columbia, and eleven foreign countries.
The site will continue to accept contributions until midnight tonight, Saturday, March 8th, in order to give people who have been meaning to contribute but haven't quite gotten around to it time to get their donations in.
Thank you, one and all, for believing in this project. And stay tuned, because there's much, much more to come!
The Jill's Next Record website is going strong, with over $56,000 in donations so far, putting us just about 75% of the way toward our goal of $75,000! The response has been truly fantastic, and we thank you fans & friends for making it happen.
And now, the Associated Press has picked up our story, which means news of our project will be appearing in newspapers and online sites worldwide! (Here, for instance, is a copy of the AP article on MSNBC's website)
Unfortunately, though, not all people who carry the AP article will include the site's page address (which appears in an "On the Net" addendum to the article that some AP subscribers don't publish). So if you hear of anybody who's read the article and wants to know more, tell 'em where to go: JillsNextRecord.com.
You like? Cool. Now go on over to the mydamnchannel site and check out the rest of the great stuff there. And while you're there, don't forget to register for the site and leave some comments about Jill's song!
Hey, we've just uploaded some great new stuff to Jill's Show & Tell (music downloads) page, including three brand new recordings (two of which are of brand new songs!) made at Joe's Pub in New York just a week and a half ago. Check 'em out -- they sound great!
Also: If you were one of the people at one of the two Joe's Pub shows (July 7th and 8th) and you received a QiGO key to allow downloading the show, please insert your key in your computer and try it out, because the shows are now up for you to download! Also, please remember to give us your feedback by filling in the quick survey form. Remember, that was part of the deal, and you promised! (hint, hint)
If you have a QiGO key but are confused about how to use it, please don't be embarrassed. Send an e-mail to webmaster Tony and he'll help you out!
Check out the latest & greatest up on the Jill's Show & Tell (music download) page! We've put brand new versions of two of Jill's political songs, plus a slightly older one you may have missed. Check it out here.
The folks at Spin Daily, a "2 minute daily video that spins what is hip, cool and 'up and coming' in fashion, beauty, gadgets, design, and fun" just featured Jill in their April 27th edition. Check out their interview with Jill here!
Check out Jill's Show and Tell (music download) page and you'll find not one, not two, but three brand new recordings you've never heard before, each of them demonstrating the versatility of the most hard rocking of all musical instruments, the banjo! Yes, the banjo can be melancholy yet hopeful (San Francisco), but it can also be a sexy party animal (Hot In Herre), or go in search of lost icons (Bobbie Gentry). Is there nothing the banjo can't do? Go have a listen, and see if you don't agree. Banjos rock, man. Who knew?
In honor of the season, we've put up our annual Valentine's Day Edition of Jill's Show & Tell (music downloads) page. There, you'll find a collection of Jill's love songs, just in time to woo your nearest sweetheart. Check 'em out, here. And Happy Valentine's Day!
This just in -- Jill's February 7th show at Largo in Los Angeles has been canceled. We're sorry if anyone was inconvenienced. The show will be rescheduled in the near future.
As we write this item on the eve of January 6, 2007, weather forecasters are expecting temperatures in New York City to approach (or even exceed) 70 degrees farenheit. 70 degrees. In January!
And then we realized that Jill has a song about this. Yes, the song's about global warming, whereas this particular season's strange weather in the Northeast might just be an plain old anomaly of nature, but still, doesn't this weekend's record warmth (and that of the past couple of months, really) give us just a little pause, and remind us all what might happen if things got really strange?
So we've posted Manhattan in January for your downloading pleasure -- you'll find it on the Show & Tell page, where we've just added it. You can also find it posted (with commentary and discussion) over on The Huffington Post. Check 'em both out!
Well, it's a new year, and the holidays are over. Time to put away the decorations, take the Christmas tree to the curb, pack up the menorah for another year, and put the festivus pole back into storage.
And, for us here at jillsobule.com, it means it's time to take the holiday songs off the downloads page, pack them away for another year, and bring you a new crop of downloadable tunes for your listening pleasure.
So, it is in the spirt of the New Year that we bring you shiny new downloads with the very traditional New Year's theme of sad songs.
Okay, we know that's not really traditional, but hey, if all the other websites jumped off a cliff, do you think we would jump off a cliff too? Certainly not.
So we happily invite you to shed a few tears with us, on Jill's Show & Tell (music downloads) page. In addition to the usual album tracks, you'll find two brand new downloads, featuring Jill performing live with ETHEL, the incredibly talented string quartet she's been collaborating with recently. And if the breathtakingly gorgeous arrangements of these songs don't bring a tear to your eye and a lump to your throat, well, my friend, you're made of stronger stuff than we are.
Check 'em out here. Even if you get a little sad, you'll be happy you did.
Hey, if you missed Honey Wagon's (a.k.a. Jill's) co-hosting gig on WFUV's The Whole Wide World With Rita Houston last week, you can catch it now via WFUV's archives. The three hour show includes Rita & Jill's Sexy Song Marathon, and many other great tunes as well. Also, Jill plays live in studio, both solo and with the awesome string quartet ETHEL, something you've just got to hear.
Check out the archived show here (Windows Media Player or equivalent required) or check out the playlist here!
Just in time for your last-minute shopping, we've added gift certificates to the Jill Store. You can buy them in a variety of denominations, and either e-mail them to their lucky recipients or print them out instantly and wrap them up for a more personal presentation. Either way, they have no expiration date and are good for everything in our store.
Jill Store Gift Certificates are available right now and can be purchased from our store's main page.
If you're planning on attending Friday night's Judith Owen and Harry Shearer's Holiday Sing-a-long (featuring Jill and an all-star cast), please be advised that there has been a last-minute change of venue for this show. The show has been moved from the New York Society for Ethical Culture Concert Hall to The Canal Room (West Broaday & Canal). This page has more information.
Yes, you heard it right. Honey Wagon, that sexy, dulcet toned late night DJ from radio's better days (and alter ego of a certain singer-songwriter we know) will be returning this Friday evening to one of the few radio stations still worth listening to, New York's own WFUV. Jill -- er, Honey -- will be co-hosting with the equally (if not more) sexy and dulcet toned Rita Houston, on Rita's Friday night show, The Whole Wide World.
Honey and Rita will trade off songs during the three hour broadcast, from 8 to 11 p.m. Eastern time on (once again) Friday, December 15. Plus, Jill will perform live in studio, both solo and, in a special treat, with the fabulously talented and deliciously eclectic string quartet ETHEL, as a preview of their gig at Joe's Pub on Sunday evening.
If you're in New York, you can listen to the show live on WFUV, 90.7 FM. But if you're somewhere else, don't fret -- the entire show (like the rest of WFUV's programming) will stream live... Just follow this link to FUV's "listen live" page.
It's three hours of fun, great music, and damned fine radio. Check it out, Friday night.
Now you can be reminded of your favorite Jill tunes every time your phone rings! We've just opened the Jill Sobule Ringtone Store, powered by Xingtone. We've included the big hits (I Kissed A Girl), a few songs whose intros were attention-grabbing (thus making them good ringtone candidates), even the Hanukkah favorite Jesus Was A Dreidel Spinner!
Pimp out your mobile phone now, with great Jill Sobule music. Visit the Jill Sobule Ringtone Store here now!
The elves have been busy at work, and we are today unveiling an updated Jill Store with a bunch of great new merchandise and some great holiday sales!
For instance, on the CD page, you'll find our popular CD multipacks, previously available only at live shows. Now you can save a lot of money by buying 3, 4 or 5 of Jill's CDs at once. Needless to say, these make great gifts for any lover of quality music.
Also in the store is our new Holiday Sale Page, featuring our limited edition holiday packages. Get Jill's latest Holiday EP (not available in any store) and a limited edition personally signed wooden dreidel (along with rules and history of the game and of Hannukah) for only $15. For another $10 ($25 total), you can add our exclusive 3-color dreidel T-shirt.
On our Wearables page, you'll find our recently reissued (by popular demand) black, faux heavy metal SOBULE shirts and two new versions of the popular "kissing girls shirt"
And... there are yet more surprises, special marked down clearance items and all sorts of other fun stuff. Check it all out now at the Jill Store. Happy shopping, and happy holidays!
We've updated Jill's Show & Tell (downloads) page again. This time, we've posted the songs that are most requested by live audiences. In addition to the most requested regular songs, we've also included (in the spirit of the season) Jill's two most requested Christmas songs (well, actually, one Christmas song and one Hannukah song).
Now up on Jill's Show & Tell (downloads) page: A collection of Jill's political songs. Check 'em out and remember to VOTE on election day, Tuesday, November 7th!
Jill has a brand new anti-war song, which is now available on the Huffington Post website. "I have had a hard time writing funny political songs these days," Jill writes, "...Instead, I wrote a depressing angry old timey anti-war song -- part 'People's History of the United States' and part Woody."
Check out Hearts and Mindshere. And leave a comment there and tell us what you think!
Just up on Jill's Show & Tell (music downloads) page: Duets and Collaborations, 5 songs (several never released before) featuring Jill performing with other talented musicians. Check 'em out here.
We're sorrty to report that Jill's appearance (as "Honey Wagon") on Rita Houston's radio show on WFUV, scheduled for Friday evening (6/23) and previously announced here, has unfortunately been canceled due to a last-minute scheduling problem. We're sorry to disappoint those who were planning on tuning in. The date will be rescheduled, and we'll announce here when it is.
We've updated Jill's Show & Tell page again, this time with a huge number of music downloads -- 7 MP3s and a new video selection! You'll find a couple of older "album tracks" you may have forotten about, some new recordings of old songs, a "lost"' soundtrack song, a song that almost made the Underdog album but didn't, demos of two brand spankin' new tunes, and a command performance of Manhattan in January, Jill's global warming song, in front of the man who commissioned it, Al Gore.
It's Show & Tell XL, our special eXtra Large edition, and, as always, it'll only be up on the site for a limited time, so get yer downloads while they're hot!. Go here to check it out!
New "Quick Links" (5/28/2006)
If you look at the bottom of any of our web pages, you'll now find a new "Quick Links" bar. We added this to make it easier for you to get around to the most popular parts of the website. Now, you don't have to move your mouse around the screen hunting for the musical note that takes you where you want to go -- just click on the Quick Link, and you're there!
Have any page you frequently visit that you think should be a Quick Link, but isn't? Write to the Webmaster and let us know!
If you live in the Northeast, or in the Great Lakes/Midwest area, or the Pacific Northwest, or in Jill's home town of Denver, well, then, June may be your lucky month. Check out Jill's Gigs Page for some new tour dates coming up in June. And come on out to the shows, already! We miss you!
Oh yes, it's that time of year again. In honor of Mother's Day, and moms everywhere, we've put Jill's song Mom up on the Show & Tell (music download) page. It's there for a limited time only, along with a few other songs we added in for good measure, non of which have anything whatsoever to do with motherhood (but we can pretend they do anyway). Check 'em out now!
We've just put some new songs up on Jill's Show & Tell (music download) page; all three are brand new downloads that have never been up on the site before. Included are two live recordings and one studio recording, all material Jill was doing during her just completed tour with Billy Bragg. Go check 'em out -- you'll be glad you did!
We hear that Michael Medved, conservative talk radio guy, author and film critic, has a bone to pick with Jill's work. On a recent broadcast, Medved took exception to two of Jill's songs of political satire recently posted at Arianna Huffington's Huffington Post website, failing (we think) to get the joke or accept the fact that satire is absurd by its nature and is not to be taken literally.
So we've prepared a special edition of Jill's Show & Tell (music download) page in Michael's honor. We've included the songs Michael didn't like, and also a few of Jill's songs that we think (and hope) he might enjoy. Waddaya say, Michael? Let's bury the hatchet and be pals, OK?
Jill will once again have the pleasure of opening for the phenominal Billy Bragg during his upcoming US tour in mid to late March. There are dates scheduled at various Eastern (and upper Midwest) cities. We've also added a show at Largo in Los Angeles on March 15th. Check the gigs page for more info, and come on out and see us!
Check out Jill's Show And Tell page and you'll find a selection of songs of love, both straightforward and twisted, including a brand new recording of the unreleased Bloody Valentine. Also included is a great live recording of Jill performing the heartbreaking and hilarious Mexican Wrestler with the fabulous Cyndi Lauper playing Dulcimer and singing harmony vocals.
These tunes will be available for a short time only, so get 'em while you can!
Once again this year, we've made a selection of Jill's Christmas and Hannukah tunes available for you to download and enjoy on Jill's Show And Tell page. Enjoy the season!
As Jill recently announced to her mailing list, we have updated and re-issued Jill's Holiday EP, It's The Thought That Counts! The all new 2005 version contains Jill holiday favorites from years past as well as one new song. The CD is in manufacturing and we expect it to be shipping on or about the 8th of December. Want to be the first kid on your block to get one? Then order one now from the Jill Store. It makes a great Christmas gift for your favorite Jill fan.
What's that you say? You didn't receive the e-mail about the CD because you're not signed up for Jill's mailing list? Well, why not? Sign up by sending an e-mail message (a blank one will do) to subscribe@jillsobule.com.
Jill's big holiday tour with Cyndi Lauper and (beginning 12/2) Sandra Bernhard is underway, and the shows are looking to be pretty amazing! Haven't bought your tickets yet? You should. These are really great shows. Check the Gigs page for more information.
Just a quick note to let you know that Jill's show tonight at Kulak's Woodshed in Los Angeles will be webcast live, so you can enjoy the show even if you're not there to see it in person. You can make requests and make comments over the net, too. To join in the fun, go to this page on Kulak's website. The show's at 8 p.m. PST tonight; you'll need to convert to your own time zone, of course. Enjoy the show!
Friday night, November 11th, Jill will be making another appearance on The Majority Report, Janeane Garofolo's and Sam Seder's nightly show on Air America Radio.
Jill will most likely appear during the show's last hour, which is from 9 to 10 p.m. Eastern time on most stations (check with your local Air America affiliate to see when the show airs on their station). You can also listen to the show live on Air America's website, or listen to archived shows via podcast (see the Majority Report website for info).
"Mind the Gap" on DVD (8/8/2005)
Indy filmmaker Eric Schaeffer's Mind The Gap, the film in which Jill plays a leading role (and also provides much of the soundtrack) has been relased on DVD and should be available in stores everywhere, including on-line stores such as amazon.com. Check it out, and see Jill in her film debut in a major role!
New Tour Dates are Up (6/22/2005)
We've just posted a bunch of tour dates, including a bunch in the United Kingdom (and one in Belgium). Many of these are appearances at multi-act festivals of various types, but some are club dates as well. There are also upcoming dates in Los Angeles (Largo), New York (Joe's Pub), and even De Moines!
New Videos! (6/21/2005)
We wanted you to know about some great new multimedia stuff on the web, based on Jill's songs!
First, the talented folks at VidLit have chosen Jill's Underdog Victorious to be their first Music VidLit, and we couldn't be more proud. It's a full-length rendition of Underdog with great imagery, done in flash. Check it out here! (You'll need some kind of broadband Internet service; VidLits will not work over dialup connections)
And then, head on over to Shake it Up Baby for some great political satire and a great new video treatment of Jill's Heroes. While there, you can also revisit Shake it Up Baby's video of Soldiers of Christ, which you'll find on the archive section on the same page.
In fact, we think these videos are so cool that we're working on a new page for the website devoted just to videos of Jill's songs. In addition to this great work, we'll also have access to all the videos that have been made of Jill's songs, from I Kissed a Girl on, some of which haven't been seen for some time. We expect this to be up soon, so stay tuned!
Last minute dates in LA (6/4/2005)
Attention Southern California: Jill has just signed up to appear twice at Largo (in Los Angeles) on Wednesday and Thursday, June 8th and 9th. See the Gigs page for more info.
Live Appearance Changes (5/14/2005)
If you check out the Gigs page, you'll find we've added an appearance in Santa Monica, California on June 7th, at a benefit show for Hollywood HEART, a great charity that addresses the needs of children with HIV and AIDS. In addition to Jill, the star-studded event will feature (former Men At Work frontman) Colin Hay, Sara Bareilles, James Combs, and KCRW's Anne Litt. We hope to see you there.
We'd also like to advise you that we had to cancel Jill's appearance at the Belly Up Tavern in San Diego on May 18th. We're sorry for the inconvenience.
Jill fans in Europe should be on the lookout for an announcement of a series of shows there in August. Jill will be appearing at several festivals and at other venues as well. We hope to announce this all in the next week or so.
Recent Site Updates! (5/14/2005)
We've been a bit remiss lately in announcing site changes here, though if you've been by the site recently, you've probably noticed them. Nevertheless, we thought we'd run the list by you, so you can check out all the cool new stuff.
First of all, we've rearranged the home page some so you can easily see when there've been new entries in Jill's Journal, plus we've completely redesigned the Jill's Journal Page so you can scroll through all the entries, instead of showing one entry at a time and having to go through a series of complex maneuvers to navigate to other entries in the Journal. We think you'll like the new format better, and we hope you'll visit often and see what's on Jill's mind lately.
We've also changed the home page so that the "What's New' list in the upper right part of the screen stays in the upper right part of the screen, instead of disappearing after a few seconds. The original idea was to keep the screen "clean," but we've found most people would rather have more information at their fingertips than a lot of whitespace (or, in this case, "bluespace"), pretty though it may be.
You'll also find the individual items in the What's New list are now clickable, so you can go directy to a particular item of interest, if you are so inclined.
We hope these changes will make the site more fun, and easier to get around. And there's a lot more to come -- stay tuned!
New downloads! (4/29/2005)
We've updated our frequently-updated Jill's Show & Tell page with some new tunes for you to listen to and download. This time, the theme is "sad or semi-twisted love songs, with a light at the end of the tunnel ... maybe." Check 'em out!
We've put up a new song page for Underdog Victoroious that we hope you'll like! Check it out here (or you can get to it by clicking on the appropriate musical note on the home page). You'll find downloadable and streaming versions of the song to listen to, plus the song lyrics, plus a fun illustration by the talented Penelope Dullaghan to which we've added some fun interactive elements (try clicking on various things in the picture and check out what happens). Have fun!
Also up today, a new entry in Jill's Journal, in which Jill proudly gives up an old, bad habit. Read it and be inspired!
New Tunes! (3/1/2005)
New songs are up on Jill's Show & Tell page, including a rare recording, never before released, of one of the most requested Jill songs of all time. Check it out!
Your Party with Jill (2/20/2005)
The folks at Jane magazine have come up with a promotion that we know you're going to be interested in. Enter between now and March 22 to win a concert with Jill in your home, or your home town. Think you might enjoy that? Yeah, we thought so. Enter here.
There's nothing like publicity, and Jill continues to make the rounds, both on radio and television. Here are some appearances you may like to know about:
Sunday, January 9th, Jill will appear on NPR's Weekend Edition Sunday. Those of you on Jill's mailing list will recall we mentioned this a few weeks back; at that time, we expected that Jill's segment, which was recorded back in December, would air earlier than it did. But we have received word from NPR that Jill will be on this Sunday's show. It airs on NPR stations across the country Sunday morning, usually in the 8-10 a.m. time slot, sometimes repeating a little later in the morning. You can find a local station airing the program here (NPR Worldwide information is available on this page as well). If you're not near an NPR station (or not around when the show airs), you can listen to the archived show at the Weekend Edition Sunday website (the first link, above) any time after 1 p.m. Eastern Time (10 a.m. Pacific) Sunday.
Tuesday, January 11th, Jill will be on Nickelodeon's U-Pick Live, somewhere between 5 and 7 p.m. (during breaks in the regular Nick programming that airs during that time period).
And on Friday, January 21st, Jill gets to realize one of her personal dreams when she fills in as guest DJ for the vacationing Rita Houston on WFUV (90.7 FM in New York, or on-line here). The show will be taping about a week and a half before that, so we'll fill you in on how it went and what you can expect. But put January 21st on your calendar; Jill will be on the air between 8 and 11 p.m.
Happy New Year! There's lots of new stuff up on the web site today. We have new music available for download, including a song never before heard by most of you (it's only been played live two or three times). We have a new entry in Jill's Journal, and new show dates. Check 'em all out.
The spirt of Free Enterprise is alive & well at jillsobule.com. Members of Jill's Secret Society Mystery Cult (street team) are now able to buy copies of Underdog Victorious at discounted wholesale prices! You can buy a bunch and spread the word (plus turn a handy profit) by selling them to people who will (we promise you) thank you profusely afterward. Or you can buy a bunch and give them out to people for Christmas. Think of them as being sort of like Girl Scout Cookies. But tastier. Visit the Myster Cult web site to join and learn more.
Two radio appearances we thought you'd like to know about…
Jill's appearance on the syndicated public radio show World Cafe with David Dye, recorded in Philadelphia in October and already broadcast once on Election Day, will be rebroadcast on Monday, November 22nd (in most markets). To find a station near you carrying World Cafe, check their web site. Those in Philadelphia will find the show on World Cafe's home station, WXPN; the show broadcasts at 2 p.m. and repeats at 1 a.m. Tuesday morning. People around the world can also listen to the WXPN broadcast of the show over the Internet by going here.
Speaking of public radio shows featuring Jill, we've been given a broadcast date for Jill's recent appearance on Mountain Stage (which she wrote about in a recent Journal entry). It will air during the week of December 11 on radio stations coast to coast. Check the Mountain Stage website for a station near you.
We're happy to report that Underdog Victorious is finally available for download (a song at a time, or the entire album) at Apple's iTunes. Also, Jill's critically acclaimed, but long out of print CD Happy Town has finally been re-released by Rhino Atlantic, and is now available on iTunes as well (we have not yet seen the physical CD for sale, but assume it will soon be available too). To check out all of Jill's material on iTunes, please use this link to the iTunes music store (using this link will take advantage of our affiliate relationship with iTunes, paying Jill a small commission on things you purchase there). Happy downloading!
We've added a new page to the web site to highlight all of the great reviews Underdog Victorious has been collecting since its release. To date, these include great write-ups in both print and on-line media, and, most recently, a terrific review that aired on All Things Considered, possibly NPR's most listened to radio program. Please check out the new Underdog Victorious Reviews Page to read excerpts of these great reviews, and for links to the full reviews (including an audio link to the NPR review). And check back frequently -- we'll be adding more reviews to this page as they come in.
In addition, we've been hard at work making other updates to jillsobule.com, including new music downloads in honor of the upcoming US Elections on the Jill's Show and Tell page, and a story about the song Bitter in Jill's Journal.
Finally, we've updated the Jill's CDs page with purchasing (amazon.com) and downloading (iTunes) links for each of Jill's albums. Check 'em out!
Jill's completed a music video for Cinnamon Park, and it's quite trippy! It's being shopped around to the various music video networks, but in the mean time, you can see it now! You'll need RealPlayer on your computer and a broadband Internet connection. Watch the video by clicking on this link, or you can watch it from Jill's page at the Artemis Records web site.
The good people at Beat Greets have put together a great e-greeting card based on Jill's Cinnamon Park. You can send it to your friends for any purpose at all. It's free, and it promotes Jill, Cinnamon Park and Underdog Victorious, too!
To check it out, visit this page, where you can view the card and send it to a friend.
Jill has contributed her version of the Warren Zevon song Don't Let Us Get Sick to Enjoy Every Sandwich: Songs of Warren Zevon, a tribute album released today on Artemis Records. The CD also features Steve Earle, Bruce Springstein, Bob Dylan, The Pixies, Don Henley, Adam Sandler, The Wallflowers, and others, all performing some of Warren's best loved songs. The CD is available at leading record stores and on-line retailers such as amazon.com.
You'll also find some live tracks of Jill's on the Tell Us The Truth: Live Concert Recording CD, which was released by Artemis on October 5th. The CD was recorded during last year's tour of the same name, and features live recordings of Steve Earle, The Nightwatchman (Tom Morello), Mike Mills, Boots Riley, Billy Bragg, and Lester Chambers, along with Jill performing War Correspondent and Texas. A DVD of the tour will be released early next year; the CD can be purchased now from (again) all record stores, or on-line retailers including amazon.com.
Time Out New York's September 16-23 issue, on the streets now, has this to say about Jill and her new album:
"Had it not been for the anomolous monster success of 'I Kissed a Girl,' everyone would be a lot more wiling to cop a deep affection for singer-songwriter Jill Sobule, who has an undeniable gift for couching clever, personal lyrics in instantly memorable tunes. We suggest you leave your preconceptions at home and check in with Ms. Sobule, whose new Artemis release, Underdog Victorious, is as solid as efforts by any number of hipster faves, and five times as catchy."
We hope New Yorkers will take Time Out's advice and join Jill at her September 23rd show at Joe's Pub ... and at the Knitting Factory on the 28th as well!
Read Jill's Daily Journal (9/7/2004)
Regular visitors to jillsobule.com know that we have, for some time, included a Jill's Journal section, featuring occasional notes from Jill.
Starting today, though, Jill has committed to try and do a Journal entry each and every day. These will generally be fairly short, but (we hope) regular. There will also be longer entries now and then.
You can access Jill's Journal from the main Jill Page (click the dot on the lowermost guitar fret in the lower left part of the screen). It's also available from the site's main home page by clicking on the new Jill's Journal link (the leftmost note on the lower staff). Please note that this link will bring up the main Jill page and automatically load the Journal pop-up window from there. If you have a pop-up blocker installed on your browser, this second part of the process may not work automatically. If you find this is the case, then you can either disable your pop-up blocker while at the JillSobule.com site, or you can manually click the dot on the lower guitar fret after the page comes up.
We hope you'll visit often and read Jill's latest entries!
"Unfabulous" debuts 9/12 (9/4/2004) Unfabulous, the television series that has been occupying a large chunk of Jill's time for the last few months now, is finally about to debut as part of Nickelodeon's new fall lineup. The premier will air on Sunday, September 12th at 8 p.m. in most time zones (check your local listings).
Unfabulous chronicles the life of Addie Singer, "a 12 year old middle schooler whose life is less than fabulous. In the privacy of her own room, she writes songs that reflect her thoughts and feelings about the ups and downs of being an almost-teenager." All of the songs in the show are written by Jill, and Jill is also in charge of the team that scores the show.
Tune in on Sunday, September 12th, and check out the result! More information on the show can be found at the nick.com web site.
Jill and "Underdog" in The New Republic (9/4/2004)
One of the first mentions of Underdog Victorious in the press is in the September 6th issue of The New Republic (on newstands now). In an article discussing the banality of much of today's pop songwriting, TNR music critic David Hajdu speaks at length about how Jill's work is different, and the article includes praise for the new album, Underdog Victorious. The article is available at the moment at the TNR web site. Read it here (free registration for the site is required).

See Jill Act! (7/25/2004)
As we've mentioned here periodically, Jill is a part of the ensemble cast in director Eric Schaeffer's Mind The Gap, a film which chronicles the lives of five unrelated people dealing with pain, desire and forgiveness in our modern world. The film opens on September 24th at New York's Angelika Film Center.
Mind the Gap marks Jill's first major screen acting role, and her performance and the film itself have both drawn praise from audiences at the festivals where it has played.
We thought you might be curious to see some of Jill's performance, and through the courtesy of Schaeffer and producer Terence Michael, we've obtained a scene for you to preview. In the scene (from early in the film), singer-songwriter Jody (played by Jill) talks to her friend Dana (Mina Badie) about her life, her music, her lack of a relationship, and the pacemaker in her chest. You'll need RealPlayer (the free version is fine) and a broadband (not dialup) Internet connection to view the scene. Also, be aware that, because the scene was encoded using variable bitrate technology (for best quality), it can take fifteen to thirty seconds for the scene to start after you click the link.
If you've got the necessary software and Internet bandwidth, you can watch the scene on your computer here.. Enjoy, and, if you're in New York in September, we hope you'll come out and support independent film and Jill's on-screen debut.
All Hits, All The Time! (7/24/2004)
As many of you know, Jill's new album, Underdog Victorious is due out on Artemis Records in September, and Artemis will be releasing the album's first single, Cinnamon Park a few weeks ahead of time. In celebration of that release, we've put copies of the first single from each of Jill's albums up on Jill's Show & Tell (downloadable music) page. You'll find I Kissed a Girl from Jill Sobule, Bitter from Happy Town, One of These Days from Pink Pearl, even Too Cool to Fall in Love from Things Here are Different. And, of course, Cinnamon Park is available for download as well. Check 'em all out!
New Shows! (6/21/2004)
We've put some new shows up on the web site that you'll want to check out. Those of you in the south (Clearwater, Boca Raton, and Atlanta) will want to check out Jill's mini-tour opening for Don Henley. There are also shows in July in New York and Los Angeles, and a couple of dates in August. All these can be found (as usual) on the Gigs page.
Jill's spent a considerable amount of her time over the last several months working on this show, so if you'd like to see what Jill's been doing instead of touring, come and check it out!
Politics meets Fashion in the Jill Store (6/9/2004)
Want to stir things up a bit? Turn a few heads? Then you might enjoy the latest merchandise to hit the wearables section of the Jill Store. We've added an outrageous new shirt, just like the one Jill's been wearing on tour lately. Lots of people have wanted to know where to get the shirt, so now we've got them! Order your very own, while supplies last!
Jill Sobule, Thespian (5/25/2004)
Those of you who have been following Jill's career closely may recall that she spent some time working on an independent feature film some months ago. That film, Eric Schaeffer's Mind The Gap, debuted at Austin's South by Southwest Film Festival this past March, and quickly became an audience and critical favorite. Then, earlier this month, it played again at the Jacksonville Film Festival and won the Audience Award for Best Feature.
The film's producers are hoping to have it out in theaters soon, so be on the lookout for it in smaller, indy cinemas in the near future. In the mean time, you can read more about Mind The Gap (including some reviews) at this web page. We're also hoping to get a clip of the film up here on jillsobule.com soon. We'll let you know when that happens.
New photos are up (5/24/2004)
We've added new photos from recent tours to the photojill page, plus you'll find new books, music, TV and movies on Jill's Nightstand. These updates are actually all about a month old and we've been promising them for a while. Sorry about the delay.
Celebrate Mom with New Music! (5/8/2004)
We've just updated the Jill's Show & Tell music downloads page with some new stuff and some old favorites. The new tunes are Small Things and a new recording of Western Skies, which is rapidly becoming a favorite at live shows. Also, the oft-requested Thank Misery makes a return engagement, along with an annual tradition: Mom, Jill's Mother's Day tribute to her mom and moms everywhere. Enjoy!
Also, coming soon … new photos from the road. And more. Stay tuned…
ALL NEW Downloads! (2/23/2004)
We've put some new music up on our Jill's Show & Tell page again. In addition to the return of the favorite Soldiers of Christ, you'll find three brand new, never released recordings: two new songs (Cinnamon Park and Tender Love and an incredible new studio recording of Strawberry Gloss, recorded just last week. Check 'em out!
New downloads, new DVD! (1/17/2004)
Yes, the holidays are finally over, so we thought it might be a good time to add some new music to the Jill's Show & Tell (downloads) page. You'll find a brand new studio version of the live favorite Underdog Victorious, a new song you've probably never heard before (Mickey & Me), and we've brought back two frequently-requested unreleased tracks (Joey and The Last Line). These songs are among the many being considered for Jill's upcoming studio album, so check 'em out and let us know what you think!
Also on the downloads page, you'll find something we haven't had up on the site for a while: video content! You'll find a video of a live performance of Trains, recorded at Club Cafe in Pittsburgh. Like what you see? Then you'll really love this news: it's from a new DVD of a full-length Jill Sobule concert! The DVD is now for sale at Club Cafe's web site. Buy your copy now and pop it in the DVD player. It's almost like having Jill play live in your very own living room!
You'll find three Jill Sobule holiday favorites up on the On the Jill's Show & Tell (downloadable music) page, a new entry in Jill's Journal (accessible from the main Jill page) dealing with Jill's recent experience on the Tell Us The Truth Tour, and more new stuff coming in the next couple of days.
And, of course, nothing says "Christmas" (or the name of any other religious or secular celebration featuring gift giving) quite like a quality gift from the Jill Store.
Jill and all of us from JillSobule.com wish you and yours peace, happiness and prosperity, for this holiday season and the year to come!
You'll find a new entry in Jill's Journal (accessible from the main Jill page). On the Jill's Show & Tell (downloadable music) page, you'll find a sampling of what Jill has called "songs of growing up soft and despondent (the Jr. High School years)," along with two tracks from the new Folk Years CD, including Jill's recording of Warren Zevon's beautiful (and, sadly, prophetic) Don't Let Us Get Sick.
Finally, we're in the process of adding more pictures to the Photojill section -- some are there now, and more are on the way soon.
Enjoy the new content!
NEW MUSIC (and more) in the Jill Store! (8/6/2003)
It's finally here -- a new CD of simply produced acoustic material: "The Folk Years 2003-2003." This CD will be available for purchase exclusively on-line at JillSobule.com and at live shows. We're taking pre-orders now -- visit the Jill Store now and check it out!
And, by the way, you'll also find other great new merchandise in the Jill Store, including Jet Pack logo merchandise, shirts and caps with our new "mystical guitar" logo, and our new Kissing Girls shirt. This great stuff is not available anywhere else, so check it all out now!
We're new and improved! (7/15/2003)
Welcome to the new, redesigned jillsobule.com! Many thanks to the good folks at Young & Laramore in Indianapolis, who did our new site design, pretty much from the ground up. They also did the fabulous opening animations, which we hope you'll enjoy. Different animations come up each time you visit www.jillsobule.com, so be sure to try multiple times -- there are five opening animations in all.
You'll find a lot of great new stuff here, so we hope you'll go ahead explore all there is see. If you're looking for something in particular and can't find it, try using our clickable Site Map (click on the link in the lower right corner of most screens) for a quick overview of the entire site. If you still can't find it, it could be that we don't have it up on the new site yet (there are a few things that didn't make the transition), but most of these things should be back pretty soon, so keep checking back.
Finally, a note: we are aware that many of the links to other pages here in the What's New section do not work properly (or at all); please bear with us as we work on that. We didn't want to hold up the site's debut for that purpose alone.
If you have any questions, comments, or would like to report something that doesn't seem to be working right, please e-mail us and let us know.
New tour dates! (6/11/2003)
If you've been checking in regularly, you've probably noticed we've been posting lots of new show dates. Lots and lots and lots of them. If you haven't been checking in regularly (and, for that matter, even if you have), you might want to wander by the gigs page and see what's new. There are appearances at several summer festivals, plus a whole bunch of dates opening for Glenn Tilbrook. Check it out.
New in the Jill Store … (5/24/2003)
We've added a bunch of new merchandise to The Jill Store! We've got several new apparel options, including our new Jetpack shirt, plus you can now buy some of Jill's CDs through our web store. Check it out now!
Hi Mom! (4/29/2003)
As Mother's Day draws near again this year, it's time for what's become an annual tradition here -- Mom's back. Jill's ode to her mother, and to motherhood itself, is up on the Music page. For a limited time only, of course.
Wanna be a Record Mogul? (4/4/2003)
After looking at several "same ol' lamo" offers from various record labels, Jill's thinking of doing something truly revolutionary -- forming a record label financed by fans, who could stand to make something back on their investment. Read about it -- along with Jill's current Cable News obsession -- in Jill's latest letter on our Hello From Jill page.
And we really are looking for ideas on this record label thing, so if you've got any thoughts, send them along to Jill.
Four new home page designs (3/29/2003)
Well, we said we were going to redesign the home page every now and then, and … so we did. We actually have four new home page designs, based on four great photographs. You will see (a randomly chosen) one of the new designs each time you visit the site. We hope you enjoy!
New Home Page Art (2/20/2003)
By now you've probably noticed our new home page design, featuring new artwork by our friend Brad Talbott, and based on Jill's Jet Pack song. We're going to try and change the home page every now and then to keep things interesting…
New site additions (2/11/2003)
We've finally gotten around to putting up a page we've been meaning to put up for a while. We call the page "Hello From Jill," and it's simply an archive of the letters Jill has sent out to her mailing list. So if you're new around here, or you haven't subscribed to the mailing list and want to see what you missed, now you can. Check it out.
Also, we've added a special West Wing Music Page, with the songs Jill will be playing on the February 12th episode of The West Wing. We figure at least a few people who see the show that night might come by here to find out more about Jill, so we thought we might make them welcome by letting them download the songs they heard on TV. So, welcome, new people! We hope you'll stick around.
New Music: Jill does Politics & War (2/6/2003)
We've updated the music page again, this time with a theme in mind. All of our featured songs this time concern the dual (yet often intertwined) themes of politics and war. In honor of the theme, we've also provided some links to web sites with further information about many of the topics referenced in these songs. And, perhaps more excitingly, we're debuting several new recordings today, including never before heard studio and/or demo versions of Under the Disco Ball (the ex-gay ministries song), Youthful Indiscretions, and the haunting Tel Aviv. Enjoy.
New Photos! (12/21/2002)
We've updated our recently-neglected Jill's Photo Album with some new pictures. See Jill photographed with assorted celebrities, family members, and fictional characters!
Holiday Music Downloads! (12/19/2002)
To help you get into the Spirit of the Season, we've added two of Jill's Christmas songs to the music page. We have some other site updates coming soon, too, so be on the lookout for new stuff soon.
Happy holidays!
New Jill Store, open for business! (12/11/2002)
It's new! It's cool! And it's just in time for Christmas. Actually, it's probably a little late for Christmas, and it's definitely late for Hannukah, but if you hurry, you still have time to buy Jill Sobule merchandise for a special someone. Look at it this way: they make great New Year's presents.
Please go check out the new store, where we are featuring several lovely items, and will be adding more soon. If you have any comments or requests about the store, please send them along to sales@jillsobule.com. Enjoy!
New live tracks! (10/10/2002)
We've added some new live tracks to our Music page, all of them frequently requested. In addition to live renditions of fan favorites Kathie Lee and Youthful Indiscretions, we've included a live performance of Warren Zevon's Don't Let Us Get Sick. All three tracks will be up for a limited time, so check them out now!
Design Contest Closes (10/1/2002)
That's all, folks! Our web design contest is now closed. Thanks to all those who took the time to enter something.
We'll be reviewing the entries over the next few weeks and will announce the winners (including the Grand Prize Winner of the Vagabond Travel Guitar) soon -- before the end of the month.
Stay tuned to JillSobule.com for the exciting results!
New dates: Baltimore, Trenton (9/24/2002)
We've just added two new appearances to Jill's gig calendar. On Sunday, October 13th, Jill will headline an all-female program at the second annual "Vaginapalooza." It's happening at The Hippo in Baltimore.
Then, on October 15th, Jill returns to The College of New Jersey in Ewing (near Trenton in Southern NJ).
For more information on these and all shows, remember to check our Gigs page.
Thanks for your patience, folks. We look forward to seeing your entries!
More Design Contest Info (9/16/2002)
Entering our web design contest but can't find the entry form yet? We know. We originally promised it for September 1, then we said September 15, and now here it is September 16th and it's still not there. What gives? Simple - you're dealing with a somewhat overcommitted webmaster who's had one of the busiest months of his life recently, and, well, things are just taking a little longer than we expected.
Our sincere apologies to everyone who's been waiting anxiously and wondering what's going on. The entry page is almost ready to go -- real close now -- and should be up and running (really) in another day or two. Meantime, rest assured that the contest is still on, and we're looking forward to seeing your entries!
Oh, and the more astute among you may have noticed one minor rule change. Someone pointed out to us that we said everything you contributed had to be your own work, but then we said we wanted to maintain some of the personality of the existing site, which some people thought would be easier to do if we let you use elements from the existing web site in your new design. Fair enough. We have changed the rules to say that anything that is currently on JillSobule.com is fair game for you to use as part of your new designs.
Also, yes, we are trying to get some pictures uploaded, but that's been a little difficult since Jill has been on the road almost constantly for the last couple of months. We're hoping to have something in that department up soon too, though, so those of you who hope to incorporate some sort of official publicity photos in your work should be able to do that. At least that's the plan. Stay tuned here for updates as they become available. And thanks once again for your patience!
Flyer updates (9/14/2002)
We've updated the on-line flyer for the October Tin Angel shows to reflect the new show date. Also, we've corrected the flyer for the October 10th show at the Turning Point, which incorrectly identified the show date as a Saturday, when it is in fact a Thursday (thanks to Chris Staab for pointing that one out). Visit the Flyers page to download show flyers.
Philly Show Date Change (9/13/2002)
The date of Jill's two shows at Philadelphia's Tin Angel has been changed. The shows have moved from October 12th to October 19th, one week later. In addition, Jill's scheduled date at Randolph-Macon Women's college (on October 11th) has been postponed; it will be rescheduled shortly and the new date will be announced as soon as we have the information. The new schedule is now up on the Gigs page.
Sept. & Oct. Flyers (8/24/2002)
Downloadable flyers are now available for shows in September & October. Visit our flyers page to check them out (flyers are also accessible from the main gigs page.
New music is up! (8/21/2002)
In our never-ending quest to keep things here fresh for you, we've once again updated the music page with a bunch of new stuff, including a couple of new recordings you've never heard before. Enjoy!
Help us, win a cool guitar! (8/20/2002)
We've just announced a new design contest that we suspect many of you will be interested in. We're looking for graphical design ideas we can use here on JillSobule.com, and we'd like your help! Everyone whose ideas we pick will win free merchandise from the soon-to-be-reopened Jill Store, plus one lucky winner will receive a brand new Vagabond Travel Guitar, the tiny guitar that Jill plays on the road.
For complete contest details, visit our new Contest Page. Good luck!
Lincroft, NJ: 9/11 Benefit Show (8/14/2002)
Just added to Jill's schedule: an appearance on September 14th at the Brookdale Performing Arts Center (Lincroft, NJ) to benefit Brookdale's fund for families of 9/11 victims. See our Gigs page for this and all show listings.
New dates: Storrs, CT & Piermont, NY (8/13/2002)
A new tour date just added to the calendar -- Jill will be returning to the Turning Point in Piermont, NY on Thursday, October 10th. Marykate O'Neil will open.
Also added, a morning/afternoon gig on Tuesday, August 27th at the University of Connecticut Rainbow Center in Storrs.
A few schedule changes (8/6/2002)
A few changes to Jill's tour itenerary have been made and are now up on the gigs page. The October 19th date at the West Strand Grill in Kingston, NY has been moved to October 5th, and the October 8th show at Florida Atlantic University has been canceled.
See what the critics are saying! (7/29/2002)
We've added a new page to JillSobule.com with some great quotes from reviewers and music critics. If you're already a fan, these will make you feel good about being one. If you're not, they'll tell you why you should be! Check 'em out.
Buy Jill's CDs On Line (7/28/2002)
We've arranged with on-line CD Retailer CD Universe to make it easy for you to purchase Jill's CDs on line. We've added links to the Discography and Lyrics page to take you directly to Jill's CDs at CD Universe. Plus, if you visit CD Universe through the links on JillSobule.com, we get a small commission on anything you buy, which helps support the web site.
We're working on alternate ways for you to purchase stuff, but we hope you'll take advantage of this feature in the mean time.
Download West Coast Flyers (7/18/2002)
We've just made flyers for all Jill's (headlining) shows on the West Coast available for your downloading, printing and posting pleasure. Visit the flyers page to check them out!
Another Tour with Don Henley (7/17/2002)
Superstar Don Henley has once again invited Jill to open for several shows (in California and Nevada) in his solo tour at the end of the month. We've added these, as well as a few other dates here and there, to the gigs page.
Download Show Flyers! (7/9/2002)
Here's a great new way to get involved, help spread the love, and meet other cool people in the process. If Jill's due to appear in your neighborhood soon, we may have show flyers available for you to download and print on your computer (or at your local copy shop). Put them up in places where cool people hang out, and when all those cool people show up at the show, you can hang out with them and be all cool together!
West Coast Date Changes (7/8/2002)
Jill's appearance dates at two stops on her upcoming West Coast tour have changed slightly. Please take note of the new dates for Dante's in Portland, Oregon (now August 2nd) and the Knitting Factory in Los Angeles (now August 6th). We've also updated some of the listings with show times, ticketing links, and other related info. Check the gigs page for details.
New Shows (and new page)! (6/21/2002)
We've started adding new shows to the gigs page, starting with a bunch of new dates on the West coast. More dates (through mid-November) are coming soon.
Also, you'll note we've changed the format of the gig calendar page. Now, when you click on the gigs link at the top of any page, you'll see our new Gigs at a Glance format, which shows you a quick list of dates, cities, and venues. Detailed information is still a click away, or, if you’re a traditionalist, the old reliable Detailed Gig Calendar is still available.
New: Discography & Lyrics! (6/21/2002)
Yes, you've been patiently waiting. Now, it's back. Mostly, anyway. We've added a new page to the site with Jill's discography (of her major label releases to start with -- we may add EPs and stuff later), along with album and track credits and lyrics to most of the songs. Some of the lyrics are still missing -- we're working on them and they should be there in a few days -- but we didn't see any reason to keep the page to ourselves just because not all the lyrics are there. So go take a look. Follow this link or click on "Discs/Lyrics" at the top of any page.
Many thanks to Sandy and Matt for transcribing most of the lyrics for me. The new page would have been another month or more in the making if it had to wait for me (your humble webmaster) to get to it…
Pittsburgh: 2 nights (6/18/2002)
Just confirmed: Jill will be playing two nights in a row at Club Cafe in Pittsburgh -- Friday and Saturday, July 12th and 13th. Visit the gigs page for info on these and all scheduled performances.
Lots of New Music! (6/17/2002)
Looking for something you haven't heard before? Then you'll want to proceed forthwith to the Music page, where we've just posted six new recordings (four studio, two live). And check back in a few more days for a new contest where you may win prizes by figuring out how some of these (we won't tell you which ones yet) are related. News on that is coming soon -- stay tuned.
Visit Jill's Neighborhood (6/9/2002)
We've just posted a new page of Jill's Photos, captured by Jill on her digital camera during a recent morning trip through her Brooklyn neighborhood and onto the subway to Manhattan. Check 'em out!
Links page now up (5/21/2002)
We've just put up a links page, with links to other artists Jill's worked with, as well as some other Jill-related sites and the fan webring.
New Music and Much More! (5/12/2002)
Lots of new and changed stuff today. We've made various changes to the Music page, including the addition of a beautiful new studio version of Jill's (rarely heard) love ballad Nothing Natural, frequently cited as a fan favorite. Also, we've added a new Contact page with information on how you can reach various people (including Jill). And an initial Community page has finally been put in place, with information on how to stay in touch with Jill and other fans.
Also on the Community page: interesting news of a new tribute CD put together by a bunch of Jill's fans (some of whom are professional musicians, but most of whom are not).
And more is coming soon, including something you have been asking for for years - sheet music (and chords) for several of Jill's more popular songs. Check back in a few days for those.
Added/Removed Shows (4/11/2002)
Just added to the gig calendar: a show at the Knitting Factory in New York, Friday, May 31st. All we have is the date so far; details will be forthcoming.
We have also, at the organizers' request, removed the April Fordham University show from the calendar. This show will not be open to the public.
We've Moved! (4/5/2002)
Yes, JillSobule.com has moved, and is operating under new "management." As you can imagine, this is a pretty large undertaking, and the site you're looking at now is sort of a temporary site, something to keep you happy and informed while we work on bringing you the "real" new site.
We will soon be adding a community page where you can interact with Jill and other fans, and some links to other interesting sites. Further down the road, you can expect a new bio page, a new page of press quotes and reviews, a discography page (with cover art, lyrics, and song samples), and much more. You will also see the return of a new & improved Secret Society Mystery Cult, and Jill's Store will be back too, with new fun merchandise.
All that's coming, and we'll let you know (via notices here and on the the home page) as new features are added to the site. For now, please consider JillSobule.com a work in progress. And if you have any comments about or suggestions for the new site, please do write us and let us know.
