Trains and a bad musical ideaNov 19, 2009 9:59:03 PM
I just got back from the Mystery train trip through the Painted Dessert, the Petrified Forest and the Grand Canyon. It was an amazing experience. The last night, Stan Ridgeway , the Handsome family and myself played cover songs in the dining car until the wee hours. Those boys played old Johnny Cash and country standards while I broke out Bowie, Dusty and...Beyonce. Everyone seemed to like being in close proximity to the performers, as well as watching -some of them - get quite tipsy and silly. Idea: What if I rented a couple of cars for a "jill" weekend train trip? Would you go? What if I brought a recording studio along and did "The Train Sessions"? Is this an idea worth pursuing? By the way I have a song called Trains: Trains. Bad Theatre idea (that I kind of want to pursue, at least today): "Going Rogue" -the musical. I'm happy to get back on the road with Erin tomorrow. Check my site for a place near you cheers, jill |
