My best friend in 7th grade stopped hanging out with me and started getting all girly. 

She didn't care about the Broncos, spies, or rock music anymore. Her IQ dropped as her voice raised in that kind of silly Betty Boop flirty way. She did her nails. She had these new really boring normal friends. She went out with Robbie Naiman. He was an asshole.

 I was heartbroken. 

Strawberry Gloss also harkens back to the days of tube tops, Candies (remember them?), and first time I slid into "first base".
