I've starting to think about my next record. Since, I am in no mood, at this very moment,  to envision the fund-raising prospects or musical choices, I thought I would first deal with the most important thing of all: the title.

I put the question to my FB friends. I received around a 120 ideas. Mind you, I did ask for the best/worst ideas. I gave as examples: "Jill with a J" (as in Liza with a Z) and "Color me Jill". Terrible.

I am not sure why that last one was suggested, but  everyone's opinion is respected and considered here.

To be serious for a moment, I am reconsidering the whole 14 song record concept. Instead, I would like to do a series of digital only EPs -maybe each with different themes. This way, I can put out more music, more frequently, and it will not cost as much or seem as daunting as a traditional record.

As far as fan- funding and bartering, I want to again come up with something fresh and fun. My last outing-jillsnextrecord-was an amazing success. I was completely taken aback by the support, so much that frankly...I'm afraid to do it again. I am always reminded that the last campaign launched before the recession, and  folks had a little extra to give to "the arts". Good timing. However, Pinko Records (me) has no choice but to fan source.

As last time, I ask my fans for their ideas. If it wasn't for their feedback, I would have never come up with Jillsnextrecord.com. 

So come on and start brainstorming with me. Ideas?
