Jill Sobule
Live at Joe's Pub, July 7th and 8th, 2007
On July 7th and 8th, 2007, we recorded Jill's shows at Joe's Pub in New York. We used fancy mutli-track equipment and miked the audience so we could try to produce something of high quality, something a little closer to a live album (albeit a rough one) than to a traditional "board recording." We did this in part as a test of some technology we're thinking about using to distribute live show recordings like this, and now that the test is over, we've decided to make this recording available to everyone.

We have created a special "composite" show for download, which represents the best of the two shows (as judged by Jill). This downloadable show contains some songs that were only performed on one of the two nights, and the "best" version of each of the songs that was performed at both shows. Occasionally, we mix the between song "banter" from one show with actual songs from the other show. The goal overall was to create a product of the highest possible quality without duplicating things. We hope you enjoy the results!
